I caught my first catfish on Monday. I had a bluegill under a bobber hoping to hook up with a big bass. I was casting out a Rapala when I noticed the pole with the bluegill being dragged in the water. At first I thought I might have hooked up with the monster bass, but after seeing the tail come out of the water I realized it was something else. It took me about five minutes to get the fish to where my f-i-l could net it, but after that fight with a not-so-big cat I can see why people like going after the big blues and flatheads so much. It measured just shy of twenty-seven inches and weighed close to ten pounds...
